Shreyas Iyer signed a fanās poster which had the caption āSarpanch Saabā on it. The star player was in his car and driving when a section of fans approached him out of nowhere. Iyer obliged, stopped his car, and signed the poster to make the fanās day. He later drove off as he was cheered by the fans who were there to see him.
The star player has had a great time over the past year, a period in which he has achieved a lot, especially as a skipper. After being dropped from the BCCIās Central Contracts, Iyer went on to win the IPL with Kolkata Knight Riders and followed it up by winning the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Ranji Trophy, and Irani Trophy in the 2024/25 season.
In the IPL Auctions 2025, Shreyas was sold for a whopping INR 26.75 crores, the second highest for a player. He had a brilliant season with Punjab Kings in the 18th edition of the biggest cricket league, where he led them to their first final since 2014 and scored over 600 runs at a strike rate of over 170.
