The Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad have departed for the Maldives after a seven-day break in their schedule in the middle of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

In a video shared on social media, the squad can be seen at the airport departing for their break. The squad reportedly does not seem to feature Phil Salt, who has missed the last three matches for the defending champions.

Salt has missed the last three matches owing to injury, details of which have yet to be specified by the team. The English opening batter has scored 202 runs at 168.33 with two half-century scores in the tournament. He scored a match-winning 78 against the Mumbai Indians, for which he was awarded the Player of the Match award. He has been replaced by English compatriot and young starlet Jacob Bethell at the top of the order.

The Bengaluru-based franchise currently sits in second place on the table with 12 points from nine games. With six victories, the defending champions will be looking for another strong finish. They were beaten by the Gujarat Titans in their last match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Batting first, they were bowled out for 155. The hosts held their nerve to reach the total with four wickets in hand, beating RCB.

Rajat Patidar & Co.’s next fixture in the league will be against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on May 7. They will return to action after a one-week break after playing their last fixture on April 30.
