Shashank SinghĀ launched a colossal maximum off Mayank Yadav during Match 54 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, March 4. The ball was hit so powerfully that it clattered the roof of the HPCA Stadium before going out of the venue.
A back-of-a-length delivery by Mayank was mauled over deep backward square leg for a towering six. Co-owner ofĀ PBKS, Preity Zinta, was left awestruck by the sheer prowess of the shot while supporting her side from the stands.
This bizarre incident occurred on the fourth ball of Mayank’s fourth over. The speedster ended up conceding a whopping 60 runs in his four-over spell. He did not secure a single wicket in the first innings. The hosts ended up scoring 236/5 at the end of 20 overs. Prabhsimran Singh (91 off 48) ended up top-scoring for the Shreyas Iyer-led side. Iyer ended up scoring 45 off just 25 balls.

17Shashank Singh (33 off 15) and Marcus Stoinis (15* off five) remained unbeaten at the end. As for LSG, Akash Singh (2/30 in four overs) was the pick of the bowlers. Digvesh Rathi picked up a couple of wickets too. However, he ended up conceding 46 runs in his four overs. Conceding 57 in his four overs, Avesh Khan returned wicketless too.
