WAFU U17 BOYS: Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum Names Black Starlets’ Starting XI for Togo Clash

Black Starlets head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has named his starting lineup for Ghana’s opening match of the WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship against Togo on Saturday in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast.

Solomon Kwame Kesse will start in goal for the Starlets. The defensive line will feature George Clinton, Kingsley Fosu Senior, Rashidan Yakubu and Gariel Denyinah, tasked with keeping the Togolese attack at bay.

In midfield, Dr. Ogum has opted for a strong and creative unit with Ernest Ofori, Mark Aboakye, Michael Awuli and captain Joseph Narbi expected to control the tempo of the game and dictate play.

Leading the attack for the Black Starlets will be Robinho Gavi Yao and Eric Adu Gyamfi, both of whom have shown excellent form in the team’s preparatory matches.

The game will be Ghana’s first test in Group A of the competition, which also includes host nation Ivory Coast and Niger. The Starlets are looking to make a strong start as they aim for qualification to the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.

Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, Yamoussoukro.
