The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Thursday, September 17 2026, brought disciplinary charges against two former Bangladesh Premier League figures and provisionally suspended both men as part of a formal process under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The two individuals named are Md Abdul Kayum Rashed, the former owner of Chattogram Royals, and Md Amin Khan, a former team official who held operational roles across two BPL editions.

The BCB Integrity Unit conducted investigations into alleged corrupt conduct spanning the 11th and 12th editions of the BPL. Those inquiries produced a set of charges covering alleged match-fixing, a failure to disclose corrupt approaches and deliberate interference with the investigation process. The provisional suspensions will remain active throughout the disciplinary process.

What specific charges does each official face?

Rashed, who owned Chattogram Royals during the 12th BPL edition, faces four charges under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The first is Article 2.1.1, which relates to allegedly fixing, attempting to fix or improperly influencing the result, progress or conduct of a match. The second is Article 2.4.4, covering an alleged failure to report an approach or invitation to engage in corrupt conduct.

The third charge, Article 2.4.6, concerns alleged non-cooperation with investigators, specifically his refusal to comply with a demand to provide his primary mobile device. The fourth charge, Article 2.4.7, alleges that he obstructed or delayed the investigation by subsequently refusing to make that device available for forensic examination.

Amin Khan’s alleged conduct across both editions forms the basis of his own four charges. He served as operations manager for Durbar Rajshahi in the 11th edition before moving to Chattogram Royals in the 12th. He is charged under Article 2.1.1 for allegedly fixing or improperly influencing a match, and under Article 2.1.4 for allegedly soliciting, inducing, encouraging or intentionally facilitating a participant to engage in corrupt conduct.

He also faces Article 2.4.6 for alleged failure to cooperate with the investigation and Article 2.4.7 for allegedly obstructing or delaying the probe by concealing or destroying communications or other information potentially relevant to the inquiry.

What is the next confirmed procedural step?

Under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code for Participants, 2024, both Rashed and Khan have 14 days from the date of notification to submit their responses to the charges. No hearing date or further procedural step beyond this initial response window has been confirmed at this stage. The BCB has not indicated a timeline for concluding the case, and no outcome should be inferred from the charges alone.
