Tight-head prop Luke Green has become the latest Northampton Saints player to sign a new contract with the Prem leaders.

Green, 24, joined the club before last season after a spell in the United States playing for San Diego Legion.

He made 24 appearances in 2024-25, scoring his first try against Newcastle last April, and has played six games so far this term.

“We’ve seen huge growth in Luke throughout his time at the club so far,” director of rugby Phil Dowson told the club website., external

“He wants to improve, he wants constant feedback, he wants to be coached hard, and he wants to help the players around him.

“To have that level of attitude and leadership at his age, and to be competing with the tight-heads we have here, is really impressive.”

Green’s new deal follows those signed by Josh Kemeny, Tom Lockett and Craig Wright since Christmas.

And the player praised “brilliant” scrum coach Jaco Pienaar for helping improve their front row this season.

“Technically he’s excellent and has made meaningful adjustments to our scrum,” said Green, who has played for England A.

“He’s also picked up a couple of personal things for me that have been significant, and from a system point of view he’s made some smart changes as well.”

Saints have not disclosed the length of Green’s new deal.
