Former Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino reckons the Blues should be stripped of their 2016-17 Premier League title after they had admitted to breaching multiple FA rules. The Blues amassed 93 points, finishing seven points ahead of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who were managed by Pochettino at the time.
After purchasing the club from Roman Abramovich in 2022, current Blues owner Todd Boehly self-reported 74 breaches of FA rules regarding payments to unregistered agents. The club ‘admitted’ making £47 million in secret payments for unregistered agents and intermediaries between 2011 and 2018, with deals for the likes of Eden Hazard, Luiz, Willian and Nemanja Matic coming under the scanner.
