Teoscar Hernández leaves with left hamstring tightness

Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández left Monday night’s game against the Marlins after just three innings, with left hamstring tightness.

Manager Dave Roberts said after the game that Hernández felt tightness when breaking for a ball hit to the right center field gap, which was likely the lineout by Javier Sanoja in the bottom of the third inning.

Hernández will undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday.

“There’s a hamstring, adductor. He’s a guy who just doesn’t come out of games by way of injury, so that’s a little concerning,” Roberts told reporters in Miami, as shown on SportsNet LA. “We are going to bring someone to potentially activate or taxi.”

Hernández was 2-for-2 in the series opener at loanDepot Park in Miami, including a double in the first inning to score Mookie Betts from first base, adding to Hernández’s major-league-leading total of 34 RBI on the season.

Hernández also hit a ground ball through the right side of the infield in the third inning, pushing his career mark against Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara to 5-for-11 (.455) with four doubles.

After playing defense in the bottom of the third inning, Hernández was replaced in right field by Andy Pages, who shifted over from center field. Chris Taylor entered the game playing center field, in Hernández’s spot in the batting order.

Hernández leads the Dodgers with 35 games and 33 starts this season, with his only two games missed so far due to a stomach bug that kept him out of April 14-15 against the Rockies.

Over the previous two seasons, Hernández played 314 games with the Mariners and Dodgers.
