According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City forward Jack Grealish could move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen this summer. The Englishman has struggled for minutes in Pep Guardiola’s side recently and was omitted from the Cityzens’ squad for the expanded Club World Cup.
Grealish is said to have admirers at Bayer Leverkusen, who look set to receive a windfall from the imminent sale of Florian Wirtz to Liverpool. Grealish is about to enter the final 24 months of his deal with City, and as such, isn’t expected to command a massive fee for the German side.
Grealish joined Manchester City in the summer of 2021 from his boyhood club Aston Villa for a reported £100 million (€117.5 million). He has represented the Sky Blues 157 times across competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 23 assists. His contract with the side runs until the summer of 2027.
England manager Thomas Tuchel has urged Manchester city star Jack Grealish to seek out regular football if he hopes to take part in the 2026 World Cup with the Three Lions. The Englishman has struggled for consistent minutes under Pep Guardiola and could be on his way out of the club four years after he arrived from Aston Villa.
Speaking about the Englishman’s chances of participating in the North American World Cup, Tuchel said (via FotMob):
The German concluded:
Jack Grealish managed only 1521 minutes across 32 games for Manchester City in the 2024-25 campaign, scoring three times and providing five assists.
Patrick’s favorite team is Manchester United for their unparallelled legacy and success in the game. He is a big admirer of Michael Carrick and his ‘smooth’ style of play back in the days. His favorite manager is Jose Mourinho, who according to him, brought a ‘swagger’ to football with his unique managerial style. Robin van Persie’s title-winning volley against Aston Villa for the 2013 PL triumph is etched in his memory forever.
Patrick always uses trusted outlets that produce accurate, balanced and fair information, and which present multiple point of views. He believes in reporting in a holistic manner for the readers’ benefit. If he could change a football rule, he would increase the number of substitutions allowed due to the high number of games played these days, to reduce injuries and so that youngsters get to show their talent as well.
When not covering football, Patrick loves reading, writing poems and short stories, and spend time with his dog Lana.
