Kuldeep Yadav sent an in-form Ryan Rickelton packing in the crucial Mumbai Indians (MI) versus Delhi Capitals (DC) clash at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, May 21.

Kuldeep created a chance off the third ball he bowled as Suryakumar Yadav’s sweep took a top-edge that went to the left of Mukesh Kumar at short fine-leg. Mukesh scampered and put in a full-stretch dive but could not get his hands to the ball. Kuldeep would have felt hard done by as he almost gave his team a huge breakthrough. This was Kuldeep’s 100th wicket in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He became the 29th bowler and 11th spinner to enter the 100 wickets club. The Uttar Pradesh spinner reached the milestone in his 97th game. Among spinners, Amit Mishra and Varun Chakaravarthy are the joint-fastest, having bagged 100 wickets in 83 games. Yuzvendra Chahal, the leading wicket-taker in IPL history, achieved the feat in 84 matches.

When Rickelton was dismissed, MI had 58 runs on the board, having lost three wickets in 6.4 overs.
