Ahead of the high-stakes IPL 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, SRH have made a key change to their squad. Left-arm spinner and all-rounder Harsh Dubey from Vidarbha has been signed as an injury replacement for Smaran Ravichandran, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The announcement came just a few hours before the match, creating a buzz among SRH fans.

Who is Harsh Dubey, and how much did SRH pay?

Harsh Dubey, 22, is a left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder who represents Vidarbha in domestic cricket. SRH have acquired him for INR 30 lakh. Dubey rose to prominence during the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy season, where he broke the record for the most wickets in a single season by picking up 69 wickets. This surpassed the previous record of 68 wickets set by Ashutosh Aman in the 2018–19 season.

In addition to his bowling heroics, Dubey also contributed with the bat, scoring 476 runs during the tournament. His all-round performance earned him the Player of the Tournament award and played a pivotal role in Vidarbha’s title-winning campaign.

So far, across formats—T20s, List A, and First-Class—Dubey has taken 127 wickets and scored 941 runs in 16 T20s, 20 List A games, and 18 First-Class matches.

SRH’s IPL 2025 campaign has been underwhelming, especially after finishing as runners-up in the 2024 season. They have managed to win only three out of ten matches, placing them in ninth position on the points table. Though out of playoff contention, today’s match presents an opportunity for SRH to bring some joy to their fans with a strong performance at home.
