SRH vs DC interrupted by heavy rain in Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals’ playoffs dreams hanging in balance

Heavy rains lashed Hyderabad right after the first innings of the Indian Premier League match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals ended on Monday evening. Being asked to bat first, Delhi Capitals slumped to 29/5 and then 62/6 before Ashutosh Sharma (41 off 26) and Tristan Stubbs (unbeaten 41) salvaged some runs and posted a 134-run target on board.

For , who opted to rest , captain Pat Cummins was the star, taking three wickets on the evening. In fact, he took all three wickets as were reduced to 15/3. He ended the innings giving away just 19 runs in his four overs.

 

 

, ’ reporter on the ground at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, wrote: “The heavens have opened up quite suddenly here at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. While the groundmen were doing their job during the innings break the rain started to pour. It started as a harmless-looking drizzle. But after a thunderstorm it has started to pour down and the ground is now fully covered.”

 

 

 

 

The match has massive implications for the 2025 playoff hopes of , who are currently in fifth spot in the IPL 2025 standings with 12 points from 10 games. Hyderabad, meanwhile, are eliminated from the playoffs race.
