Six players have received their first senior national team invitations after head coach Kim Lars Björkegren named his squad for the Pink Ladies Cup.

The tournament is set to play a key role in Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Goalkeeper Rose Baah headlines the list of debut call-ups, alongside defenders Diana Amoako and Alexandra Emefa Tay, wingers Sharon Sampson and Helen Alomenu, and attacker Ajegipena Zakaria.

Their inclusion in the Black Queens squad reflects the technical team’s efforts to strengthen the team with emerging talents as Ghana builds toward the continental showpiece.

For Rose Baah, the call-up represents a major breakthrough, as she earns recognition for her performances at club level and joins the goalkeeping unit to increase competition for places.

Defenders Diana Amoako and Alexandra Emefa Tay from the youth side, Black Princesses (U20) will be aiming to impress and provide depth to the backline.

On the flanks, Sharon Sampson and Helen Alomenu bring pace and attacking width, offering additional options in wide areas as the Queens seek to enhance their offensive threat.

Ajegipena Zakaria’s inclusion adds another dimension to the attack, with the forward expected to compete for a place in the team’s frontline during the tournament.

The Pink Ladies Cup will provide the six players with their first taste of senior international football and an opportunity to integrate into the national team environment.

The competition is expected to serve as a crucial assessment platform for the technical team as it evaluates new talents and builds a competitive squad for the 2026 WAFCON.
