Sharp Arrows Ladies FC U15 have made history as the first-ever champions of the Upper East RFA U15 Girls Colts League, delivered under the FIFA League Development Programme.

The 2025/26 season marked the first rollout of the FIFA League Development Programme for the U15 Girls Colts League. Eight teams participated, Catch Them Young referees were trained, and direct logistical support was provided to clubs.

Upper East RFA Chairman Alhaji Salifu Shaibu Zida said: “This is a milestone. With FIFA/GFA’s support, we moved from ad-hoc games to a structured girls colts league. Today’s champions are proof that we are fixing the fundamentals to create a pathway from grassroots to the elite.”

In line with FIFA League Development Programme objectives, participating clubs received direct equipment support to sustain growth:
Sharp Arrows Ladies FC – Champions received a trophy, gold medals, a full set of jerseys, and footballs.
Runners-up received silver medals, a set of training bibs, and footballs. All participating teams received footballs as well.

The equipment support ensures clubs have the basic tools to continue training and compete next season.

Women’s EXCO Rep, Madam Clemencia, who witnessed the final, noted: “This is exactly what we have always wanted — creating safe, competitive environments and rewarding commitment for the girls to participate and reach their potential. Today we say thank you to FIFA/GFA for setting the benchmark.”

Coach Amina Salifu, Sharp Arrows Ladies FC, said:
“Some years ago we trained under a tree with one ball. Today we have jerseys, a trophy, and FIFA footballs for every team. This programme changed everything for girls in Bolga.”
