The IPL 2025 is set to resume on Saturday, May 17 after a one-week suspension due to border tensions between India and Pakistan. While the venues of the last remaining league games have already been decided, the BCCI is yet to announce the grounds that will be hosting the playoffs of the tournament.

As per reports, it appears that the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is one of the venues that has been shortlisted to host Qualifier 2 and the final of the tournament. However, these plans might change based on the weather forecast. The board is currently monitoring the chances of rain at the venues, and it is expected that Ahmedabad will not experience any rainfall in early June.

Speaking of Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, Mumbai remains a potential option, but it will depend on the arrival of the monsoon, reported Cricbuzz. It was just a few days ago that the commercial capital experienced heavy rainfall and the conditions have remained overcast since then. The BCCI might choose the North Indian venues such as Delhi and Jaipur instead of Mumbai which normally remain unaffected by rain at that time of the year.

Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad to not host games, Mohali and Dharamsala ruled out due to border issues

There are some venues which will not host any games going into the resumption, namely Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad, who have only one fixture remaining now. The reason behind this decision is because the board has deemed it impractical to move broadcast equipment for only one fixture. Though the finals were also planned in Kolkata, the BCCI has decided to move on from the plan due to the unpredictable weather.

Dharamsala and Mohali have been ruled out due to their proximity to the border. This has prompted the BCCI to make the venue in Jaipur the new base for theĀ Punjab Kings (PBKS) who will be playing their remaining two home fixtures there.
