Arsenal’s chances to get anything out of this season will have to go through French champions Paris Saint Germain when they lock horns for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal in Paris on Wednesday night. The Parisians already hold a slender advantage over the visitors with a 1-0 win in the first leg, courtesy of 4th minute strike by Ousmane Dembele.
Dembele, who was declared fit to play in the 2nd leg after suffering an injury scare in the first leg, was rested in the weekend’s game against Strasbourg, is fit and available, coach Luis Enrique said. Both teams are coming off 2-1 losses in their respective league matches with PSG losing to Strasbourg while Arsenal were put down by Brentford.
The two teams also share another common factor which is that they have never won the Champions League with the French side losing to Bayern Munich in its only Champions League final in 2020 while Arsenal was runner-up to Barcelona in 2006. This time around, they’ll have to go through each other to meet Inter Milan in the final at Munich after the Italian side defeated Barcelona 4-3 in the second leg of their semifinal match after the 1st leg was a 3-3 tie.
The second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals is set to kick off on the 8th of May at 12:30 AM IST. The game will be played at Parc des Princes stadium, PSG’s home ground in Paris.
The 2nd leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final can be streamed LIVE on the SonyLiv website and app.
The second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals will be broadcast live on the Ten 2 and Sony Ten 2 HD channels in India.
