President Simeon-Okraku engages Northern football stakeholders in Tamale, reaffirms commitment to grassroots growth

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has held a wide-ranging and highly engaging stakeholder meeting with football administrators and officials of the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) in Tamale to discuss matters of shared interest and advance the development of the game in the region.

The meeting, which took place at the Tamale Stadium, brought together the leadership of the Northern Regional Football Association, club owners and Chief Executives, senior referees, match commissioners and Catch Them Young Referees. It formed part of the GFA President’s ongoing stakeholder engagement tour of the Northern Region.

Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaji Abu-Hassan Rhyzo, formally welcomed President Simeon-Okraku and his delegation, expressing appreciation for the visit and highlighting the wide-ranging interventions and sustained support the GFA has provided to the region under the current administration.

Addressing the gathering amid a rousing reception, President Simeon-Okraku presented a comprehensive overview of the progress made since assuming office, outlining key investments and policy interventions aimed at strengthening football structures at both the regional and national levels. He reaffirmed the GFA’s commitment to grassroots development, referee advancement, youth football and capacity building across all tiers of the game.

The interactive session allowed stakeholders to freely share feedback, raise concerns and propose ideas to enhance football administration and development in the region. President Simeon-Okraku welcomed the contributions, stressing that stakeholder input remains central to shaping responsive policies and sustainable solutions for Ghana football.

The engagement in Tamale forms part of a series of meetings being held by the GFA President with principal stakeholders in the Northern Region, as he continues his nationwide drive to build strong partnerships, deepen dialogue and promote inclusive football development across the country.
