The 2025–26 Premier League continued on Sunday, September 14, 2025, with Medeama climbing to the top of the table after a commanding victory over Young Apostles, Karela United making a confident start and Nations FC sealing a dramatic late comeback.

Young Apostles 0–2 Medeama

Medeama opened their 2025-26 Premier League campaign in commanding fashion, defeating Young Apostles 2–0 at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park to move top on goal difference.

A goal in each half from Mensah Jacob Amu (7’) and Paul Yeboah (61’) separated the two teams and ensured the visitors bagged maximum points on the road.

Goalkeeper Felix Kyei earned Man of the Match honours after a string of fine saves preserved the clean sheet.

The victory places Medeama level on three points with Gold Stars, Nations FC, Asante Kotoko, Heart of Lions and Karela United but ahead on superior goal difference.

Karela United 1-0 Aduana FC

Karela United kicked off their season with a narrow but morale-boosting win at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

Malik Abubakar 3rd minute strike separated the two teams at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Last season’s relegation battlers showed early resolve, while Aduana struggled to recover from conceding inside three minutes. Karela’s defensive discipline secured an important three points.

Nations FC 2-1 Swedru All Blacks

Nations FC snatched a dramatic 2–1 victory over Swedru All Blacks on Sunday, scoring a stoppage-time winner to complete a spirited comeback in their 2025–26 Ghana Premier League opener.

The visitors, making their first top-flight appearance in 16 years, stunned the home crowd when captain Kweku Asuandzie Baffoe rifled in a 14th-minute strike.

Nations FC regrouped after the interval, leveling in the 57th minute through Samuel Tetteh. With the match seemingly destined for a draw, Emmanuel Annor produced a moment of brilliance in the 90th minute, curling home the decisive goal that sealed the win and earned him Man of the Match honors.

Heart of Lions 1-0 Dreams FC

Heart of Lions opened their 2025–26 Ghana Premier League campaign with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Dreams FC at the Kpando Sports Stadium.

Ebenezer Abban converted a 25th-minute penalty to give the hosts the decisive lead, and the Lions controlled key phases of play while defending resolutely to secure all three points. Lawrence Osei’s commanding performance earned him the Man

Vision FC 0-0 FC Samartex 1996

Vision FC opened their  campaign with a hard-fought goalless draw against visiting FC Samartex 1996, holding firm despite finishing the match with ten men.

The first half was evenly balanced, with both sides probing but unable to find a breakthrough. After the interval, Vision seized control and looked the likelier team to score until a dramatic twist in the 75th minute. Substitute Richmond Ocran, introduced just eight minutes earlier, was shown a straight red card, leaving the hosts a man down for the final quarter-hour.

Despite the setback, Vision continued to dominate possession and defended resolutely to keep the visitors at bay. Samartex will rue their failure to exploit the numerical advantage, leaving Tema with only a single point.

Midfielder Kwame Aziz was deservedly named Man of the Match.

Basake Holy Stars 0-0 Eleven Wonders

Basake Holy Stars were held to a stalemate in their  Premier League opener as returnees Eleven Wonders produced a disciplined defensive display to earn a point on the road.

Holy Stars pressed for an early breakthrough but met stubborn resistance from the visitors’ well-organised back line, leaving the first half goalless. Eleven Wonders threatened sporadically on the counter yet remained cautious, wary of being exposed at the other end.

The pattern continued after the break, with both sides creating half chances but lacking a decisive finish. At the final whistle, the spoils were shared and the score remained unchanged.
