The battle for supremacy in the Premier League enters another decisive stage this weekend, with the title race, top-four ambitions and relegation survival all hanging in the balance as several key fixtures take centre stage across the country.

Hearts of Oak vs Basake Holy Stars

Hearts of Oak will be eager to bounce back from their 2–1 defeat to champions Bibiani Gold Stars, a result that ended their six-game unbeaten run and dented their title hopes. The Phobians remain third with 40 points from 24 matches but trail the leaders by six points.

Despite their strong league position, Hearts have struggled at home this season, managing just four wins in 11 matches at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium and scoring a league-low six goals on their own turf. Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani will be determined to end his side’s three-game home winless streak when they host an improving Basake Holy Stars side.

Holy Stars arrive in eighth place with 32 points after securing consecutive 1–0 victories. However, their away form remains a concern, having lost their last four league games on the road while conceding multiple goals in each of those defeats.

Aduana FC vs Eleven Wonders

Aduana FC will be desperate to rediscover their winning touch after going four league matches without victory. The Dormaa-based side sit fifth with 38 points and boast one of the league’s best defensive records, conceding just 14 goals this season.

Their impressive home form at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park — where they have lost only once in 12 matches — could provide the boost they need against struggling Eleven Wonders.

The relegation-threatened visitors remain rooted to the bottom of the table after seven consecutive defeats. They have scored the fewest goals in the league (14) while conceding a league-high 42, highlighting the magnitude of the challenge they face.

Karela United vs Asante Kotoko

Karela United’s push for a top-four finish continues to gain momentum after their recent consistent run. The Tamale-based side have lost just once in their last five matches and currently occupy seventh place with 35 points.

They have been particularly strong at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, recording eight wins and two draws from 11 home games.

Asante Kotoko, meanwhile, remain firmly in the title conversation despite a frustrating goalless draw against Vision FC last weekend. The Porcupine Warriors sit fourth with 39 points and have the second-highest goal tally in the league. Their solid away record — ranked third best in the division — will give them confidence heading into this encounter.

Young Apostles vs Bibiani Gold Stars FC

Young Apostles remain locked in the relegation battle after extending their winless run to three matches. They sit in the drop zone with 27 points but have been relatively resilient at home in Wenchi, losing just twice in 11 games.

However, they face a daunting challenge against defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars, who are in excellent form. The Miners have won four consecutive league matches, including a crucial victory over Hearts of Oak, and sit second with 45 points — just one point behind leaders Medeama.

Medeama vs Hohoe United

League leaders Medeama SC will be determined to halt their recent dip in form after dropping points in four consecutive matches. Despite the setback, the Tarkwa-based side remain the league’s top scorers with 32 goals and boast an unbeaten home record at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium.

Newcomers Hohoe United, currently in the relegation zone with 27 points, have shown signs of improvement with two wins and a draw in their last three matches. Nevertheless, their poor away record — only one win in 11 games — presents a major challenge against the league leaders.

Heart of Lions vs Swedru All Blacks

Heart of Lions enter this round sitting mid-table with 30 points but face pressure after losing four of their last five matches. Coach Bashir Hayford’s side will look to rely on their strong home form at the Kpando Sports Stadium, where they have won seven of their 11 matches this season.

Swedru All Blacks, meanwhile, are just one point above the relegation zone with 28 points and have struggled for consistency. The Black Magicians have won only once in their last five matches and have found goals hard to come by on the road, failing to score in four of their last five away fixtures.
