Premier League: Big tests in Kpando and Tema as Kotoko, Dreams target crucial away points on Saturday

Two intriguing Premier League Matchday 21 fixtures take centre stage on Saturday, January 31, 2026, as Asante Kotoko SC travel to Kpando to face Heart of Lions, while Vision FC host Dreams FC in Tema in a clash with significant implications at both ends of the table.

Heart of Lions vs Asante Kotoko

Out-of-form Heart of Lions will be eager to steady their faltering campaign when they welcome second-placed Asante Kotoko SC to the Kpando Stadium, hoping to cut down the gap to the top four.

The Kpando-based side host this fixture under pressure after suffering their seventh defeat of the season, going down narrowly to Bechem United last weekend. That result extended a worrying run of form which has seen Bashir Hayford’s men record just one win in their last ten league matches (D3, L6), the poorest run in the division over that stretch. With 27 points from 20 games, Lions sit seventh on the table, eight points adrift of the top four, having scored 18 goals and conceded 16.

Home form, however, offers a glimmer of hope. Heart of Lions have won six of their nine matches at Kpando this season (D1, L2) and recently snapped a three-game home winless run. They will be desperate to secure consecutive home victories for the first time since November as they seek to restore confidence among their supporters.

Asante Kotoko travel to Kpando with renewed belief after a convincing 3-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Sunday. That emphatic win ended a three-match winless run and marked their first league victory of the second round. The Porcupine Warriors have now picked up two wins, two draws and one defeat in their last five matches, keeping clean sheets in four of those games.

Kotoko sit second on the table with 35 points from 20 matches, boasting the league’s second-best attack with 27 goals while conceding just 11. Abdul Karim Zito’s men are the fourth-best away side this season (W3, D4, L3) and will be keen to register their tenth league win as they continue to keep pace with leaders Medeama SC.

Vision FC vs Dreams FC

At the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema, Vision FC host Dreams FC in a meeting between two sides looking to build momentum.

Vision FC remain 13th on the table with 23 points after an impressive comeback earned them a 2-2 draw away to Hohoe United last weekend. Nana Kweku Agyeman’s side have lost just once in their last five league outings (W2, D2), scoring 17 goals and conceding 21 this season. At home, Vision have been particularly solid, recording four wins, four draws and just one defeat in nine matches. They will be eager to bounce back after suffering their first home loss of the campaign against league leaders Medeama SC in their previous fixture in Tema.

Dreams FC arrive with confidence of their own, having extended their unbeaten run to four matches—their longest streak this season—following a 1-1 draw against Young Apostles at Tuba. The Still Believe lads have climbed to eighth place with 25 points and are showing signs of consistency after a slow start to the campaign.

However, away form remains a major concern for Winfred Dormon’s men. Dreams are still searching for their first away win of the season, having recorded just two draws and seven defeats on the road, scoring five goals and conceding 13. Saturday’s clash presents another opportunity to break that duck, especially against a Vision FC side they defeated earlier in the season at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports.
