Punjab Kings (PBKS) took on Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamsala on May 8, but the match was suspended. PBKS won the toss and chose to bat first. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings for PBKS. Priyansh hit two boundaries in the first over off Mitchell Starc, signaling that he was in good touch today.

Prabhsimran was no less impressive, hitting three fours off Mitchell Starc in the third over to show his form. In the mandatory powerplay, PBKS scored 69 runs without losing a wicket.

Priyansh completed his fifty in the seventh over when he took a single off Axar Patel, reaching the milestone in just 25 balls.

Prabhsimran completed his fifty in the 10th over, also taking a single off Kuldeep Yadav. T. Natarajan dismissed Priyansh on the first ball of the 11th over, and Shreyas Iyer came in to bat, but the lights went off, leading to the match being called off.

Priyansh and Prabhsimran have been the two pillars of the PBKS batting lineup

Priyansh scored 70 off 34 balls at a strike rate of 205.88, including five fours and six sixes, while Prabhsimran remained not out on 50 off 28 balls at a strike rate of 178.57, with seven fours.

Priyansh and Prabhsimran have been the two pillars of the PBKS batting lineup, contributing a significant portion of the team’s total runs in this IPL. Priyansh has scored 417 runs from 12 matches this season at an average of 34.75 and a strike rate of 194.86, including one hundred and two fifties—an outstanding season for a debutant. Prabhsimran has scored 487 runs from 12 matches at an average of 44.27 and a strike rate of 170.88, including five fifties.
