The Black Stars Technical team dropped by the Greater Accra Regional Hospital on Monday, February 16, 2026, to make a donation of an unspecified amount to the maternity ward. The technical team, led by Otto Addo, visited the hospital to fraternize with the staff and new mothers at the maternity ward as part of their social contribution to society.

Otto was accompanied by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku. Others included Assistant Coaches Desmond Ofei, Kim Lars Björkegren, Alain Ravera, and Technical Advisor Winfried Schaefer. Also present were Chief of Staff Michael Osekre and Director of Communications Henry Asante Twum.

Otto Addo made an unspecified donation to the maternity ward of the hospital on behalf of the technical team and the Ghana Football Association as their contribution towards the upkeep of the new mothers and the newly born children.

The coaches are currently in Ghana to scout players in the Ghana Premier League and other domestic competitions as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

“Big, big respect for what you have been doing the last year,” Otto Addo said, stressing the hospital’s remarkable work in serving the community, particularly those who struggle to afford medical care.

“This won’t be the last time that we can find a solution to continuously support you. We really, really appreciate what this institution is doing for the people here in Accra. And we know that there are many people who even can’t afford a lot of things”.

The technical team will continue to hold meetings with the leadership of the Ghana Football Association on plans and strategies for the World Cup scheduled for June this year.

The Black Stars will take on Austria and Germany in two international friendlies in March as part of their preparations for the tournament.

The visit underscores the Black Stars’ commitment to giving back to the community as they gear up for Ghana’s World Cup campaign in Mexico, Canada and the United States.
