While aiming for a strong revival at the China Open, Zheng Qinwen recently opened up about the injury setback that halted her progress. In July 2025, Qinwen underwent arthroscopic surgery on her right elbow to address chronic pain caused by a floating bone fragment due to powerful hitting.
She was forced to withdraw and miss a few tournaments while undergoing her rehabilitation process. However, Zheng competed at the China Open as the seventh seed but pulled out of the face-off against Linda Noskova in the round of 32. Six months later, she was still not ready to compete, and the Chinese player was forced to withdraw from the Australian Open.
