Norway coach Ståle Solbakken excluded Manchester City star Erling Haaland from a pre-arranged press conference ahead of taking on Portugal. The striker is with the national team for this month’s UEFA Nations League fixtures, having been named in the squad by Solbakken.
Solbakken told reporters that while Haaland had been due to speak at the press conference, he made the decision to leave out the striker, altering previous plans. He explained that he did not want the pre-match discussion to be around Manchester City’s ongoing case with the Premier League, citing Rodri‘s press conference as an example.
