The National Juvenile Committee has rounded off its activities for the year 2025 with a comprehensive review meeting chaired by its newly appointed Chairman, JoeSalam Abubakar. The meeting marked an important moment for the committee as it assessed progress made in youth football development and set the tone for improved planning in the year ahead.

Chairman JoeSalam Abubakar formally welcomed new members Daniel Larbie Akowuah and Joseph Epton, who were attending their first official sitting. He underscored the importance of teamwork and shared responsibility in advancing juvenile football across the country, noting that the committee remains central to the future of Ghana football.

A major part of the meeting focused on a review of the off-season juvenile competitions. The Coordinator for the Regional Football Associations, Daasebre Adu Asare, provided detailed insights into the Elite U15 Boys and Girls competitions as well as the KGL U17 Inter-Regional Colts Championship, highlighting participation levels, technical improvements, and organizational challenges encountered during the season.

The committee also discussed the successful qualification of the Black Starlets to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco next year. Members expressed optimism about the team’s prospects and emphasized the need for early and structured preparations to ensure a strong showing at the continental tournament.

Additionally, the CAF Schools Football Championship was reviewed, with particular attention paid to the logistical and developmental challenges faced by participating teams. The committee deliberated on practical measures to address these challenges in future editions to enhance performance and overall impact.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening juvenile football structures nationwide, as the National Juvenile Committee looks ahead to building on the gains made in 2025 and delivering more competitive and sustainable youth football programmes in the coming years.
