Taylor Townsend was overcome with emotion after reuniting with her son, Adyn Aubrey Johnson, also known as A.J. Fresh off her US Open doubles win, Townsend competed at this week’s WTA 500 tournament, the Guadalajara Open in Mexico.
However, she pulled out of the competition ahead of her round-of-16 faceoff against top seed Marta Kostyuk. The American tennis player later shared a picture of herself from the hospital, revealing that she was forced to pull out to undergo emergency surgery. The emergency surgery scare also required her to do a 36-hour fast.
