John Smoltz believes Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts had few options in the 2026 National League Championship Series. The Hall of Famer said the Los Angeles Dodgers manager kept reworking his lineup because Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman stopped producing.
Smoltz spent 20 of his 21 big league seasons with the Atlanta Braves, won the 1996 National League Cy Young Award and entered the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015. He worked the NLCS as a broadcaster and saw the Brewers sweep the two-time defending champions.
Smoltz made the comments on Flippin’ Bats with Ben Verlander, Justin Verlander’s younger brother, on Friday.
