Mohun Bagan’s Subhasish Bose and Vishal Kaith Crowned Best; Khalid Jamil Bags Top Coach Award Again

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) celebrated the achievements of Indian footballing talent at its annual awards ceremony, held in Bhubaneswar on the eve of the Super Cup final. Several standout players and coaches were recognised for their exceptional contributions throughout the season.

Mohun Bagan captain and Blue Tigers defender Subhasish Bose was crowned the Men’s Player of the Year. Bose enjoyed a memorable season in the green-and-maroon jersey, leading his team from the front. Besides his defensive prowess, he also showcased his attacking abilities by scoring an impressive 6 goals, the highest for any defender in the league this season.

Adding to Mohun Bagan’s accolades, Vishal Kaith, their goalkeeper, was named the Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year. The shot-stopper has been a consistent performer, holding the record for the most clean sheets in Indian Super League (ISL) history. He also clinched the Golden Gloves award in the previous ISL season, establishing himself as one of the most reliable custodians in the league.

FC Goa midfielder Brison Fernandes was recognised as the Most Promising Men’s Player of the Year. The young midfielder had a remarkable season, netting 7 goals for his club, making him the second-highest Indian goal scorer in the ISL, behind only Sunil Chhetri.

Khalid Jamil was awarded the Men’s Coach of the Year for the second consecutive time. He led Jamshedpur FC to the playoffs and also to the final of the Super Cup, bringing them close to their first-ever trophy under his guidance.

In the women’s category, Indian Women’s National Team and East Bengal FC forward Soumya Guguloth was named the Women’s Player of the Year. She was the top Indian scorer in the recently concluded Indian Women’s League (IWL).

East Bengal FC also saw their goalkeeper, Panthoi Chanu, receive the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award. She recorded the most clean sheets in the IWL this season.

The Most Promising Women’s Player of the Year award went to 18-year-old defender Thoibisana Chanu, who played for Sreebhumi FC in the IWL.

Sujata Kar was named the Women’s Coach of the Year for her successful leadership of newly promoted Sreebhumi FC, guiding them to an impressive third-place finish in the IWL.

The AIFF also recognised the best match officials of the year: Venkatesh R was named the Male Referee of the Year, while Tekcham Ranjita Devi received the award for Female Referee of the Year. Vairamuthu P was acknowledged as the Male Assistant Referee of the Year, and Riiohlang Dhar was named the Female Assistant Referee of the Year.
