Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) emphatically by 59 runs in the 62nd match of IPL 2025.
Here are the top three highlights from today’s MI vs DC clash in the IPL 2025:
DC crumbled under pressure
DC crumbled when they were expected to perform at their highest level. They especially missed their captain in today’s match. Earlier in IPL 2025, it was believed that DC was the team most likely to qualify for the play-offs. But gradually, they lost their way in the middle phase of the tournament. As of now, they stand no chance of making the play-offs. In today’s match, MI were 123/4 in 16.3 overs, but DC conceded 57 runs in the last 21 balls.
Suryakumar Yadav and Naman Dhir’s batting
Suryakumar Yadav put up a show at the Wankhede Stadium. He hit the ball all around the park and scored 73 runs off just 43 balls, including seven fours and four sixes, at a strike rate of 169.77. He stitched together two important partnerships—one with Tilak Varma and another with Naman Dhir—of 55 and 57 runs, respectively. The first partnership gave the MI innings solidity, while the latter was a blinder.
Mitchell Santner and Jasprit Bumrah’s spells
All MI bowlers contributed to the win by taking wickets, but Mitchell Santner and Jasprit Bumrah were the pick of the bowlers, with both taking three wickets each. Santner finished with figures of 3/11 at an economy rate of 2.80, while Bumrah ended with 3/12 in his 3.2 overs at an economy rate of 3.60.
