MI vs DC: Top 3 Battles to Watch Out for in Today’s Clash in IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians (MI) will be up against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 63rd match of IPL 2025 on May 21.

Here are the top three battles to watch out for in today’s MI vs DC clash in the IPL 2025:

Faf du Plessis vs Trent Boult

Faf is enduring a poor IPL season, with just 173 runs from seven matches at an average of 24.71 and a strike rate of 122.70. Boult, meanwhile, is having a fantastic season, taking 18 wickets from 12 matches. In head-to-head encounters in the IPL, Faf has scored 109 runs off 98 balls against Boult but has been dismissed four times, with a strike rate of 111.22.

Rohit Sharma vs Axar Patel

This is a battle between the former captain of MI and the current captain of DC. Rohit is not having a great season, but he has scored 300 runs from 11 matches at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 152.28.

Axar, on the other hand, is having a poor season with the ball, picking up only five wickets from 12 matches. Historically in the IPL, Axar has troubled Rohit, who has struggled to score freely against him. Rohit has faced 69 balls from Axar, scoring only 63 runs and getting dismissed three times, at a strike rate of 91.30.

KL Rahul vs Trent Boult

Rahul has been in excellent form this season, scoring 493 runs from 11 matches at an average of 61.63 and a strike rate of 148.05. In previous matchups, Rahul has consistently dominated Boult in the IPL. He has scored 98 runs from 66 balls against the left-arm pacer, being dismissed twice and maintaining a strike rate of 148.48.
