Francisco Lindor is in the midst of his fifth season as a Met. Since then, he has put up a collective slash line of .261/.338/.464. In 2023, Lindor put up an OPS+ of 139. In 2024, it was 143. In no season as a Met has he hit less than 20 home runs, and he’s only six away from getting there already in 2025.
And yet, Lindor has not been an All-Star in his time in blue and orange. Frankly, this is unacceptable.
This year, we at Amazin’ Avenue are going to do everything we can to encourage our readers, as well as Mets fans everywhere, to ensure that we vote Francisco Lindor into the All-Star Game in Atlanta. Voting is already open, and we encourage voting early and often. Every email address gets five votes, but I’m sure your household has more than one email address, right? Encourage them to vote as well!
Need more encouragement to vote for Lindor? Since his Mets debut, he has the most fWAR of any qualified shortstop in baseball (26.3 fWAR), has the most home runs (123), and is second in Defensive Runs Above Average (68.6). How has this man not been an All-Star yet?
And yes, there are other Mets players who deserve the nod, especially Pete Alonso, but Pete’s been to the ASG as a Met in four of his six completed MLB seasons, and one of those was the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign. So yes, vote for many Mets to go to Atlanta, but let’s do this for our shortstop. He deserves it.
Vote here. Vote Lindor.
