Tennis icon Martina Navratilova remembered and honored the victims of 9/11 attacks in New York, a moment that “changed our world forever.” On September 11, 2001, two commercial airplanes had been hijacked by al-Qaeda terrorists, who flew them straight into New York’s Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.
During the tragic incident, 2,977 innocent people lost their lives. In the following months, thousands more passed away due to the toxic dust that poisoned the air. Twenty-five years have passed since the terror attack, and Martina Navratilova paid tribute to the “heroes and the fallen.”
