Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing players in three key positions after bringing in Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford this summer. The Red Devils ended the 2024-25 campaign on a disappointing note and require heavy reinforcements in their squad for next season.
Manchester United received a major boost in their transfer plans as they signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers despite their reportedly difficult financial condition. The English giants paid his £62.5m release clause to seal his signature. The Red Devils have also reportedly made their opening bid to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. However, the club rejected United’s first offer and wants them to pay a fee similar to Cunha’s to secure the deal.
According to The Guardian, Manchester United will prioritize signing a striker, a central midfielder, and a goalkeeper after completing the signing of Bryan Mbeumo this summer. The Red Devils require reinforcements in all three areas ahead of next season.
As their starting goalkeeper, Andre Onana has been disappointing for the last two seasons at Old Trafford. Moreover, the Red Devils lack force in the attack and will benefit from bringing in a world-class striker. They have been linked to Viktor Gyokeres in recent times.
Manchester United’s further signings will all depend on their PSR situation and potential sales, such as that of Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho.
In an interview via The Guardian, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes confirmed his plans of staying at the club despite receiving a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal. Fernandes was linked to a move to the Middle East throughout last season despite being one of the Red Devils’ most promising players. He said:
The Portugal international added:
Bruno Fernandes recorded 19 goals and 19 assists in 57 appearances for Manchester United across competitions this season. The Red Devils star also lifted the UEFA Nations League with Portugal this month. He’s expected to be a key part of Ruben Amorim’s project next season.
