Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly launched a massive bid to sign Manchester United target Bryan Mbeumo. Danish tactician Thomas Frank, who recently moved from Brentford to Spurs, is keen on taking his star player from the Bees with him across London.
As per a report in the Daily Mirror, Tottenham have sent a stunning £70 million bid to sign Mbeumo. They have offered £65 million in fixed fee with another £5 million in add-ons.
However, Manchester United remain the Cameroon star’s preferred club. He agreed terms earlier this month but the Red Devils have only made a bid of £60 million.
Brentford reportedly want £70 million for their start player and have been offered the same by Tottenham. The London side are yet to respond but the decision might be down to the player, as per the report.
The bid comes just days after former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster urged Mbeumo to snub a move to Old Trafford. He claimed that a move to Tottenham was better for the winger and said (via TBR Football):
Mbeumo has just a year left on his current deal but the Bees have an option to extend the deal by another season. He has reportedly demanded £250,000 from the club interested in signing him this summer.
Arsenal icon Perry Groves was on talkSPORT earlier this week and urged Bryan Mbeumo to join Tottenham Hotspur. He claimed that Spurs offered him more on the pitch than Manchester United, but the financial side might be a drawback. He said:
Tottenham will play in the UEFA Champions League next season after beating Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final. The Red Devils have no European football next season after finishing 15th in the Premier League.
