The Athletic have revealed that Michael Carrick will stay in charge of Manchester United for Saturday’s trip to Chelsea after the club’s hierarchy decided against a change in the dugout.
The call followed talks at Carrington on Monday between chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox, with conference calls to co-chairmen Joel and Avram Glazer and minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
