Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo after they had a bid turned down for Brentford’s Bryan Mbuemo. Semenyo has been with the Cherries since arriving from Bristol City in January 2023.

In 89 appearanes across competitions, the 25-year-old has had modest returns of 22 goals and 10 assists. That includes 13 goals and seven assists in 42 games across competitions.

Despite being contracted to the Cherries till 2029, Semenyo has attracted interest from the Premier League. As per Sky Sports, he’s the subject of interest of Tottenham Hotspur and United.

It’s pertinent to note that the Red Devils saw a £55 million bid for Mbuema – their primary target – rejected. While Ruben Amorim’s side are expected to return with an improved offer, they are also contemplating other options like Semenyo.

Sky Sports has reported that Semenyo is also on the radar of Premier League champions Liverpool, as he looks to play in the UEFA Champions League, but United – who won’t have European football next season – aren’t out of the fray.

Mbuemo, also, 25, has been with the Bees since arriving from Troyes six summers ago. He has contributed 70 goals and 51 assists in 242 games across competitions, including 20 strikes and eight assists in 38 outings in the Premier League, where Brentford finished tenth.

Former Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to remain with Al-Nassr, where his current deal expires at the end of the month. The 40-year-old is coming off a UEFA Nations League win with Portugal.

Following a second spell at Manchester United between 2021 and 2022, Ronaldo arrived at the Knights of Najd on a free transfer and has struck 99 times across competitions.

Amid speculation about his next destination, Sky Sports reported Ronaldo as saying that he wishes to remain with the Saudi Pro League giants. Following Portugal’s 5-3 win over Spain on penalties on Sunday (June 8), following a 2-2 draw after extra time, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner said about his club future:

Ronaldo enjoyed a successful Nations League campaign, scoring eight times and assisting once in nine games, as he won his third senior title in international football. Roberto Martinez’s side also became the first team to win multiple Nations League titles.

He still harbors the heartbreak from the Azzurri’s 1994 FIFA World Cup final defeat against Brazil, and protagonist-turned-antagonist from the game, ‘Divine Ponytail’ Roberto Baggio is his all-time favorite player. His favorite manager is Marcelo Lippi, who ended Italy’s 24-year wait for the World Cup trophy, winning it in 2006.

Outside Europe’s top five leagues, he follows the MLS following Lionel Messi’s move in 2023 but favors Cristiano Ronaldo in the G.O.A.T. debate. During his free time, Bhargav enjoys driving off to new places and singing.
