President of the Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has met with traditional authorities in Tumu as part of his ongoing tour of the Upper West Region.

The GFA President paid a courtesy call on the Tumu traditional leadership, where he expressed profound appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and his delegation.

During the visit, President Simeon-Okraku called for the prayers, guidance and continued support of the traditional authorities as Ghana prepares for a demanding international calendar involving several national teams.

He noted that the coming period will be particularly significant for Ghana football, with the national teams expected to compete on various continental and global stages, making the backing of traditional leaders and the wider community especially vital.

President Simeon-Okraku emphasised that football remains a powerful unifying force and reiterated his administration’s commitment to working with all stakeholders, including traditional authorities, to advance the game and create opportunities for the youth across the country.

The President was accompanied by the Chairman of the Upper West Regional Football Association, Alhaji Sadugu Yahaya, as well as executives of the Sissala East Football Association.

He was supported by members of his entourage, including Chief of Staff, Michael Osekre, GFA Regional Football Coordinator, Daseebre Adu Asare, Dreams FC President, Jiji Alifoe Mohammed and Senior Communication Manager at the Office of the President, Patrick Akoto.

The visit to Tumu forms part of President Simeon-Okraku’s broader Upper West Regional tour, during which he has engaged key stakeholders, inspected football facilities and strengthened relationships aimed at promoting inclusive, sustainable football development throughout the region.
