KL Rahul has reached his 100th ODI appearance for India, turning out in the second match of the series against West Indies at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on September 30, 2026. Captain Shubman Gill confirmed his place in the XI at the toss.

The occasion carries a second landmark within it. Rahul enters the contest with 9,965 international runs across all formats, leaving him 35 short of the 10,000-run mark. Reaching that figure would make him the 15th Indian batter to achieve the coveted five-figure milestone in international cricket.

Ahead of the match, Rahul also presented Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi with his first senior international cap, marking the fast bowler’s debut for India.

What do KL Rahul’s overall international numbers look like heading into this match?

Across Tests, ODIs and T20 Internationals combined, Rahul has accumulated 9,965 runs from 241 appearances and 280 innings at an average of 40.50. He has converted 22 of those innings into centuries and reached fifty on 63 further occasions, with a career-best score of 199.

In T20 Internationals, Rahul has scored 2,265 runs across 72 matches and 68 innings at an average of 37.75 and a strike rate of over 139. He has struck two centuries and 22 fifties in the shortest format, with a best of 110 not out.

In Tests, he has amassed 4,288 runs from 70 matches at an average of 36/65, including 21 half-centuries and 12 tons. His highest score of 199 came against England in Chennai almost a decade ago.

In his 99 ODIs before this match, spread across 90 innings, Rahul had scored 3,412 runs at an average of 49.44. He has eight centuries and 20 fifties to his name in the format, with a best score of 112 not out.

Throughout his 50-over career, Rahul has filled several different roles for India, opening the batting, steadying the middle order, finishing at number six and keeping wickets, while also captaining the side on occasion. That versatility has kept him central to India’s ODI plans across multiple cycles, earning him recognition as one of the team’s most reliable and adaptable contributors in the format.

With the 10,000-run mark just 35 runs away and his 100th ODI already underway, the Guwahati contest offers Rahul the chance to complete two significant personal landmarks inside a single innings.
