Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) return to their home ground when they face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 6 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday, April 2. Both sides will be hoping to register their first win of the new season after losing their respective opening matches.

KKR played against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, 29 March, where they suffered a six-wicket defeat despite scoring 220 while batting first. MI chased down the total with relative ease thanks to a 148-run opening partnership forged by Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma.

SRH, meanwhile, played defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the opening game of the 2026 IPL season. The 2016 champions fell to a six-wicket defeat, with RCB chasing down 202 in 15.4 overs. Virat Kohli was the star of the show, scoring an unbeaten 69 while Devdutt Padikkal set up the run chase by hitting 61 off just 26 balls.

Both sides have a squad brimming with T20 stars as they look to get their first points on the board. With a host of experienced players on show, there is always a possibility that a few players from both sides are close to achieving a personal milestone in the shortest form of the game.
