Chelsea is ready, to be seriously interested to sign Joao Pedro and his rise from Brighton this summer. The Blues are reportedly ready to pay around £50 million with players in a deal for the Brazilian forward. Pedro, who switched to Brighton from Watford in 2023, has developed a reputation for himself. Now, Chelsea pursuing him under serious interest from a number of top clubs.

Under the real talent of Roberto De Zerbi, Pedro has found a consistency to match his rise. This has completely embraced the ever-changing landscape of Brighton’s attacking football. He is also adaptable because he can play as a central striker, second striker, and on the wings. Last season, he ended the season scoring important goals both in the Premier League and Europa League to prove he is now “at it” at the highest level!

🚨 Understand João Pedro can leave Brighton in the summer as he’s open to new chapter of his career.

Chelsea’s interest in Joao Pedro came in after his rise and as their part of an increase in attacking quality they are looking for in their squad. After signing Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku last summer, the Blues still need consistent goals and have been held back by injury and lack of finishing ability. Mauricio Pochettino finds certain qualities of Pedro like playing acroos the front line very attractive.

However, the rumour suggests that Chelsea are prepared to offer £50 million plus players as a part of the deal. Brighton have indicated their willingness to accept player-exchange transactions in the past, accepting one when selling Moises Caicedo to Chelsea in the first summer of the latest transfer market. Chelsea might suggest players that have no future at the Blues, such as Armando Broja, David Datro Fofana, or Trevoh Chalobah, and even possibly look to offset any finances.

Brighton are talented in brokering deals and will not want to lose Pedro so easily, but if Chelsea offer cash plus players, it may work to entice the Seagulls. Joao Pedro is not only under Chelsea’s radar. Other Premier League teams, including Tottenham and Newcastle, are developing interest in the forward. Chelsea’s financial resources and willingness to include players in the deal may give them an advantage

The Blues have shown aggression in the transfer market since Todd Boehly became their owner, going after collegiate-aged players with high upside. At only 22, Pedro checks that box. He has also shown the benefit of Premier League experience, meaning he would not require to adjust to the league the same way an overseas signing would be.

Joao Pedro’s promising development at Brighton is undeniable and moving to Chelsea could represent the next step. For the Blues, bringing in a versatile, proven Premier League attacker checks an important need for their squad. This deal is by no means done. However, Chelsea is clearly ready to go for the Brazilian. Moreover, they are willing to offer a deal of £50 million plus players.

If the transfer occurs, Pedro could be an important piece of Pochettino’s rebuild at Stamford Bridge. Brighton may be less than excited to lose another prized asset. But they may find the monetary and player inducements for Pedro simply too good to refuse. This could be one of the most entertaining transfer sagas to watch as we move through the summer transfer window.
