Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed when the club are planning to hold a farewell for Lionel Messi. The Argentine superstar left the Catalan giants in the summer of 2021, when they were going through major financial difficulties.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner spent 21 years on the books of the Blaugrana, joining them from Newell’s Old Boys in 2000 as a youngster. He went on to become arguably the greatest player in football history and certainly in the club’s history.
