The Indian Army conducted ā€˜Operation Sindoor’ in the wee hours of Wednesday, May 7. However, as per reports it will not have an immediate impact on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Dharamsala airport has reportedly been shut down following India’s attack on specific terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan.

The Punjab Kings (PBKS) are scheduled to play Delhi Capitals (DC) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Thursday, May 8. Both teams are planning to participate in the practice sessions as planned on Wednesday unless the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) advises to make a contrary decision.

“We’ve not had any information from the BCCI and IPL officials so far. We are going ahead as per the original schedule,” a PBKS official told Cricbuzz.

The five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) are scheduled to travel to Dharamsala on Thursday, May 8 and will face off against PBKS on Sunday, May 11.

“We’ve not had information from the BCCI with regard to this,” another franchise official said.

Meanwhile, the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are taking on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday, May 7. The five-time champions CSK have already been eliminated from the IPL 2025 and currently stand at the bottom of the points table.

KKR are sixth with five victories and will aim to win the match in front of their home crowd. This win against the Yellow Brigade will increase their playoff qualification chances.

Earlier, KKR completely destroyed the Men in Yellow in their hometown. CSK were restricted to 103 runs in their 20 overs courtesy a brilliant bowling display from Harshit Rana, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy. The three-time champions beat the home team with eight wickets in hand.
