IPL 2026: Sunriser Hyderabad’s strongest predicted XI against Royal Challengers Bengaluru
SHARE

As IPL 2026 gets underway, Sunrisers Hyderabad will step into the spotlight in the high-voltage tournament opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. With a new season bringing fresh expectations and strategic tweaks, SRH will be keen to start on a strong note and set the tone for their campaign right from game one.

Known for their ultra-aggressive batting approach and dependable bowling attack, Sunrisers Hyderabad face the challenge of finding the ideal combination that complements both their batting depth and bowling strength. In this listicle, we take a look at Sunrisers Hyderabad’s strongest predicted XI for the IPL 2026 opener.

Here’s Sunrisers Hyderabad’s predicted Playing XI vs RCB

Top order: Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan (c & wk)

Easily the most destructive batting line-up of the IPL 2026, SRH top-order consists of three absolute hitters of a cricket ball in Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Ishan Kishan. Head and Abhishek will open the batting for them, whereas Ishan will come in at number 3.

Ishan will also captain the side till their regular captain, Pat Cummins, gets match fit. The only concern for this top order will be that all three of them are lefties.

Middle order: Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, Liam Livingstone, and Harsh Dubey

This middle order has it all: Firepower, strike rotation, plus a few overs of bowling as well. Heinrich Klaasen remains SRH’s most important cog in this batting lineup due to his unique and adaptive batting style. Nitish Kumar Reddy, too, can be a handy option with the bat for this side, with his attacking game.

He will be given the finishing duties along with Liam Livingstone. The English batter is known for his big hits and his all-round ability. Moreover, left-handed spin-bowling all-rounder Harsh Dubey will be a vital option for the Hyderabad side after impressing in the limited opportunities that he got during the 2025 edition.

Bowling: Shivang Kumar, Brydon Carse, Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkat

The bowling unit remains SRH’s only weakness ahead of the clash against the defending champions, especially with the absence of Cummins. On paper, this bowling line-up looks a little inexperienced. This year, SRH might find a good spin option in Shivang Kumar to complement Dubey.

In the pace department, England’s Brydon Carse will lead the charge with his international experience. Harshal Patel gives them a wicket-taking option, whereas Jaydev Unadkat, who had a brilliant economy rate in the last season, can be handy with the new ball.
