The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) play their second consecutive away game when they take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Match 6 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

SRH once again possesses one of the most dangerous batting lineups in the IPL, who are capable of chasing down any target in sight. The 2016 champions, however, suffered an opening-day defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) despite putting 201 on the board.

The Ishan Kishan-led side has a strong batting core comprising a very good mixture of Indian and overseas players. These include the likes of Abhishek Sharma, captain Kishan, along with Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen. SRH will need to rely on their batting prowess if they want to secure their first win of the new IPL season against KKR.

The Hyderabad-based outfit does have experienced bowlers in the T20 who had off days against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Here is SRH’s strongest predicted XI vs KKR, Match 6, IPL 2026:

Top order: Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (C & WK)

SRH’s top order has three of the best T20 batters in current times. Their opening pair of Head and Abhishek caused a lot of havoc in the IPL last time around. They did, however, have a bad day in the office against RCB, when they were dismissed for 11 and seven respectively. However, their presence is still a dangerous sight for the opposition bowlers.

Kishan, on the other hand, continued with his brilliant T20 form with a 38-ball 80. He scored at a strike-rate of more than 210 and is probably the wicket KKR bowlers will want as soon as possible.

The only downside of this hard-hitting top order is a lack of right-handed batters.

Middle order: Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, Salil Arora, Aniket Verma, Harsh Dubey

The powerful hitting continues for SRH even in their middle order, which is led by Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The former South African batter scored at a strike-rate of 172.69 last season and remains their prized asset when the field is spread out in the middle overs.

SRH have two exciting youngsters in the middle order in the form of Salil Arora and Aniket Verma. Arora took the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy by storm, where he scored 358 runs at a strike-rate of almost 200.

Verma had a great outing against RCB in their previous game. Coming in to bat at number seven, the right-hander scored 43 off just 18 balls, which propelled SRH to a score above 200.

Bowlers: Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga.

SRH went with three frontline bowlers in their playing XI, whilst using David Payne as their impact sub in the previous game. Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat are IPL veterans and will need to lead the bowling in the absence of captain Pat Cummins.

Payne, on the other hand, took two wickets on his IPL debut but went at an economy of above 11. Eshan Malinga bowled just two overs in the last game and should play a bigger role against KKR on Thursday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad predicted playing XI:

Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (C & WK), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, Salil Arora, Aniket Verma, Harsh Dubey, Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga.
