Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to play their first home game of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season when they face Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, April 5.
The hosts come into the game on the back of their first win of the new season, beating the Kolkata Knight Riders by 65 runs, and thus becoming the first side to defend a total at this year’s IPL. While batting first, the 2016 champions posted 226 on the board after healthy contributions from Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. Their excellent bowling was able to defend 227, bundling KKR out for just 161 from 16 overs. Jaydev Unadkat was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets, while Eshan Malinga and Nitish Kumar Reddy chipped in with two wickets each.
LSG, on the other hand, lost their opening game of the new season to Delhi Capitals in Lucknow. The hosts had an underwhelming display with the bat, getting bowled out for just 141. DC chased down the target with relative ease, with Sameer Rizvi’s unbeaten 70 taking his side to a six-wicket victory.Â
