The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a comfortable 47-run victory over the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 31 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday, April 21. This is now the 2016 champions’ third consecutive victory this season, and they have leapt up to third in the standings.

The hosts were put into bat by Axar Patel and made the most of the great batting conditions on offer. SRH scored 242 from their quota of 20 overs, thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s second IPL hundred. The 25-year-old scored an unbeaten 135 off just 68, scoring 10 fours and the same number of sixes. He was partnered wonderfully by Heinrich Klaasen’s late onslaught, scoring 37 not out at a strike-rate of 284.62.

In reply, DC gave it a good go but were chasing the game throughout and managed to reach a total of 195. They had a slight chance when Nitish Rana and KL Rahul were scoring quickly in the first half of the innings. The pair hit 57 and 37, respectively, but DC lacked any meaningful contribution towards the backend of the season. SRH’s bowling was led by Eshan Malinga, who ended up with a four-wicket haul and Harsh Dubey, who took three wickets.

As is the case with most IPL matches, SRH vs DC also saw a host of milestones being achieved, both for the team as well as the players. Abhishek dominated the milestones chart today, following his quick-fire century to mesmerise the Hyderabad crowd.

Here are the most important stats and milestones from Match 31:

  • Axar Patel: Played in his 100th game for the Delhi Capitals
  • Heinrich Klaasen: Reached 100 sixes in his IPL career
  • Abhishek Sharma: Scored his second-highest individual score in his IPL career
  • Abhishek Sharma: second instance of hitting 10 sixes in an IPL innings
  • Abhishek Sharma: Joint-most T20 hundreds by an Indian (9)
  • Abhishek Sharma: Reached 350 sixes in his T20 career
  • Eshan Malinga: Third-best figures by overseas bowlers for SRH in IPL history (4-32)
  • Sameer Rizvi: Reached 1,000 runs in his T20 career
