The Punjab Kings take on the Lucknow Super Giants in Match 29 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.

The Kings come into this clash on the back of a dominant seven-wicket win against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. They are the only unbeaten side remaining in IPL 2026, having found their balance in the tournament with both bat and ball.

The openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh have provided blistering starts, while Shreyas Iyer has been consistent in the middle order with three consecutive half-centuries. Cooper Connolly has adjusted to life at number 3 and will be looking for his next match-winning performance.

The bowling is clicking, with Arshdeep Singh finally finding his footing with the new ball against MI. Yuzvendra Chahal has been bowling brilliantly with deception and guile, foxing batters as he has always done in the IPL. Vijaykumar Vayshak, Xavier Bartlett and Marco Jansen have proved their mettle as reliable all-phase bowlers.

On the ohter hand, Lucknow Super Giants come into this clash on the back of two losses. Their opening pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh has got starts but have failed to capitalise on them. Rishabh Pant has not been in the runs since his 66 against the Sunrisers.

But their biggest concern is the form of Nicholas Pooran, who has scored just 41 runs in five innings. Mukul Choudhary has been a revelation, winning the game against the Knight Riders with a half-century.

While they have flaws in the bowling department, their bowling has been brilliant. Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav have shared the new ball to brilliant use, with the former looking his best since the long injury layoff. Prince has been fantastic with his high pace and accurate execution, while Avesh Khan has been reliable in the death overs as always, picking key wickets and controlling the run flow.

This clash promises to be a fantastic encounter with the star power of the two teams. They have played each other six times, with both having won three games apiece.
