The Mumbai Indians have their eyes set on the record-extending run in the Indian Premier League (IPL), as they aim to win their sixth title in the tournament with the upcoming 2026 edition. The IPL 2026 schedule is now officially out, with the five-time champions opening their campaign against the three-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, March 29.
MI won their maiden title in 2013, and since then, they have dominated the marquee 20-over competition, winning in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. All of their IPL championships have come under the captaincy of legendary cricketer Rohit Sharma, and the veteran batter will be back in action once again, but the franchise will be led by Hardik Pandya. MI also have star cricketers like Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah in their ranks.
