Mumbai Indians (MI) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 29 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at Wankhede Stadium.

MI are struggling this season under the leadership of Hardik Pandya. The five-time champions are currently ninth on the points table, with just two wins from seven matches. They will be keen to bounce back in front of their home crowd and secure their third victory of the season.

Meanwhile, SRH are placed third in the standings with five wins from eight matches. After a slightly inconsistent start, they have built strong momentum with four consecutive wins. They will look to continue this form and further solidify their position in the top four.

Here are the potential impact players for both teams in Match 41:

Mumbai Indians (MI):

Raj Bawa: A seam-bowling all-rounder, Raj Bawa is yet to feature for Mumbai Indians this season but has regularly been included among the substitutes. He played three matches in the previous edition and remains a potential option if the team looks to add balance.

Rohit Sharma: The former MI captain could be used as an Impact Substitute as he continues his recovery from injury. To manage workload, he may not take the field, focusing primarily on his batting role.

Will Jacks: A proven all-rounder on the international stage, Jacks can contribute with both bat and ball. His performances were instrumental in helping England reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2026.

Shardul Thakur: He is another strong Impact Substitute option. Known for picking up crucial wickets at key moments, Thakur can also provide valuable runs down the order.

Mayank Rawat: Rawat made his IPL debut against Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium but did not get off the mark. As an all-rounder, he offers a right-arm spin option and has an economy rate of 7.59 in T20 cricket.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):

Liam Livingstone: Livingstone is likely to remain a backup option for Sunrisers Hyderabad. With Pat Cummins expected to be part of the playing XI, his chances of starting are limited.

Smaran Ravichandran: A promising batting talent, Smaran enters the IPL on the back of strong performances for the Karnataka cricket team. He boasts an impressive T20 strike rate of 162.45, making him an exciting prospect.

Harshal Patel: A seasoned IPL performer, Harshal has featured in three matches this season but is yet to pick up a wicket. He will be eager to make an impact and get back among the wickets in the upcoming games.

Travis Head: The experienced Australian has been a key Impact Player option for SRH while batting. Though he has been a consistent performer for the franchise over the years, he is currently looking to rediscover his best form this season.

Harsh Dubey: The youngster has been utilised in a few matches as an Impact Player, especially when conditions favour spin. He can also contribute as a handy lower-order batter.

Expert opinions and strategies:

Home Advantage: Mumbai Indians will be playing their fifth home game of the season at Wankhede Stadium, and are expected to draw confidence from familiar conditions and strong crowd support.

Recent Form: MI have had the upper hand in recent encounters, winning four of the last five matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

Balanced Side: SRH look like one of the more well-rounded teams in the tournament, with most departments functioning effectively. In contrast, MI are still searching for their ideal playing XI and consistency.

Final Prediction: Given their balance and current momentum, SRH head into this contest as slight favourites. However, MI cannot be ruled out, especially at home, as they have the firepower to put up a strong fight.
