Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) square off against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match No. 49 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, May 6.

The Orange Army turned things around magnificently after a slow start to the season, celebrating five consecutive wins before losing to the Kolkata Knight Riders in their last game. They are positioned at No. 3 on the points table with six wins and four losses from 10 games.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings won six out of their first seven matches. However, the law of average probably came into effect.

These two teams clashed against each other earlier in the tournament. The Sunrisers were beaten significantly by six wickets in Mullanpur by Shreyas Iyer and Co. However, previous records won’t count for much when these two teams meet again.

While the Sunrisers are placed at No. 3, Punjab are sitting pretty at the top of the standings.

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad Pitch Report

The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is expected to provide a sensational batting surface, where batters will be able to play on the up. The margin for error could be very little for the bowlers.
